Carnival of Personal Development – Final Edition
Hi everyone and welcome to the final edition of the Carnival of Personal Development. I must say that it has been a fun ride for the past 6 months. We have consistently received almost 100 submissions a week from the beginning. And have been featured twice by blog carnival. The carnival has been a success from the start.
I am amazed by the number of new blogs that start up all the time. And I have learned about a number of new blogs through the carnival. There are some great writers out there.
Alas, they get lost in the mix which is why I always stressed an editor’s picks section. It’s good to know what couple articles you can pick out and read that rise above the rest. Our time is valuable and I appreciate everyone who takes the time to participate in the carnival.
So why is this the final edition?
Exactly because our time is valuable. I personally don’t feel like I have the time to give to this carnival that it deserves. Many of our hosts have taken the time to read most or all of the articles and post an editor’s picks section, yet some haven’t. Many who submit articles take the time to categorize them properly and write a good summary of what it is about, yet many don’t. Some of our readers take the time to scan the articles and then they read a few they like, yet many people just glance over these carnivals without a second thought.
For me, the results don’t totally justify the energy expended so I am discontinuing the carnival. Maybe someone else will start it back up, and if you want that mantle of responsibility please talk to me. However, I don’t feel the need to continue the carnival. As they say all good things come to an end…
So let’s get started…
Going against what I said, I will offer no editor’s picks section. I think most of these articles deserve to given equal weight even though they may be more or less valuable to you depending on what you are looking for and what you may need to read about. I’ll leave it up to you to decide and would welcome your thoughts in the comments…
Here we go…

Hi Jeremy,
Congrats on organising 6 months of the carnival. As one of the hosts I know how much work this can be. Also I agree that the carnivals don’t get a lot of readership nowadays. So I think you’re making a good move.
